Captains Camp

Rising 6th-Rising 8th Graders

July 13-16

Captains Camp at Carteret Community College blends the expert knowledge of skilled boat captains with exploration along the Crystal Coast. Campers will learn about boating safety and be introduced to a variety of career opportunities in marine trades industry.

Along with building their knowledge of boat manufacturing, boater safety, and rules of the Intracoastal Waterway, your child will meet with local marine captains, explore small and large vessels, and more! Trips are planned to the US Coast Guard Station at Fort Macon, the NC Maritime Museum in Beaufort, the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores, and a ride on the ferry to Cape Lookout National Seashore (weather dependent).

Campers should bring a refillable water bottle and a lunch Monday-Wednesday. A pizza party will be provided on Thursday!
